Histones

Histones

The molecule of DNA in the chromosomes of eukaryotic cells (the nucleus), no need for the presence of certain proteins called histones, which play a role in the packaging of DNA and chromosome structure. While nuclear proteins that do not contain histones, are believed to play an important role in the regulation of genes. DNA carries wrapping the histones to form nucleosomes, which together form (a structure quite compact and condensed) kromatinën, from which chromosomes are formed.
